What’s with the oddly specific rating convention?

I had been talking about doing a french fry review blog for a while, and one evening, some friends and I came up with this list of factors that we deemed most important for french fries.

We then proceeded to forget the list for months, and when my friends found this list in their apartment, we could not, for the life of us, recall what this list was supposed to mean. Until, after about half an hour of tossing ideas around I said “I should use these for my french fry blog.”

Thus, when my good friend put this together, the only must have was that the rating system include these very specific categories for judging french fries.
